Mary is also a Sports Massage therapist so brings a unique combination of skills to the running sessions she leads.
Becky is a keen runner, a qualified level 2 fitness instructor and England Athletics Leader in Running Fitness. Slow social runs.
Free to join, everyone welcome.
Weds 6:30 - 7:30pm: restarting Weds 4th September
Warm up, group run (all abilities catered for), cool down.
Our group runs are designed to be at your slow pace with lots of opportunities for chatting whilst running. We know everyone's slow pace is different so there will be different distance options and we'll regroup frequently so no-one will get left behind.
Running slower develops aerobic fitness while placing significantly less stress on your musculo-skeletal system than a faster pace, thereby lowering injury risk. It also reduces fatigue meaning fast, high intensity run sessions can still be performed well. This combination drives fitness improvements most effectively, so save your fast running for speed sessions and slow down on your longer runs!

Logistics: Meet by the trig point next to the Stone Circle, close to the cafe in the centre of Hilly Fields

Strength training sessions specifically targeted at runners in collaboration with Becky from MaceMasters.
Strength, particularly in our core, glutes, hips, calves and ankles, plays a huge part in reducing running injury risk as well as boosting performance.
Strength is frequently a training area neglected by runners. It's so much more fun in a group and we'll make sure you are performing the exercises safely and for maximum benefit.
Strength for Runners weekly session format will include key running movement patterns with plenty of variation and also chances for repetition and perfecting form. Using bodyweight, resistance bands, hand and long maces there will be the opportunity to gradually add and increase load to the movement patterns. Each session will also include exercises focussing on core strength.
Where: Hilly Fields, by the Stone Circle.
Every Saturday 9:45 - 10:45
£10
Your first session is FREE, just select the option not to pay when you checkout. (Use the "Skip & Book" or "Pay Later" button on bottom right of the payment page)
